Mepco Schlenk Engineering College (Autonomous), Sivakasi is one among the Prestigious Institutions in the Nation to establish Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC) under the aegis of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Ayog to receive a grant fund over five years along with the matching contribution from “The Metal Powder Company Limited (MEPCO), Thirumangalam”.
The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is a flagship initiative set up by the NITI Aayog to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across the length and breadth of the country, based on a detailed study and deliberations on innovation and entrepreneurial needs of India in the years ahead.
ACIC-Mepco Innovative Foundation (ACIC-MIF) is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), a not-for-profit section 8 company, is functioning to provide an excellent framework for the Innovation Ecosystem to transform the community in and around the Institution.
ACIC-MIF Special Purpose Vehicle is functioning to encourage a spirit of entrepreneurship in the underserved/unserved regions of India by providing enabling infrastructure and facilitating environment for innovation.
Thus, nurturing the culture of entrepreneurship in the community to overcome the various societal challenges.
Ideathons, Capacity building programmes, IPR workshops, Outreach events, Mentoring meets, etc. are being conducted by ACIC-MIF to realize the vision of Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Ayog, New Delhi.
The objective of the ACIC-Mepco Innovative Foundation is to offer unique and incentivized solutions, which will encourage students, researchers or any individual/group of individuals to ideate and design novel innovative solutions for the communities in and around the Atal Community Innovation centres. Moreover, creating a space for pre-incubation of ideas and solutions.
With the state-of-art labs, joint collaborations, equipment, makerspace, mentorship, handholding support, funding opportunities, and co-working space, ACIC-MIF ensures the Innovation Ecosystem for the budding entrepreneurs.
ACIC MIF is administered by Board of Directors consists of eminent people. The Board of Directors meet regularly to review progress and provide policy guidelines for the operations of ACIC MIF
